HerbFest 2019 is being held at Grade 2* listed Dartington Hall in South Devon.  This is a venue that we feel is in synch with the HerbFest ethos - in their own words:

'Dartington is many things to many people but one aim underpins everything...we use our estate to stimulate new thinking and action to help develop a more sustainable, more just and more enriching world. In this, very little has changed since Dorothy and Leonard Elmhirst bought this estate in 1925 and embarked on what they called the Dartington Experiment to regenerate a rural community.'

Dartington Hall has been the venue for a number of projects over the years, including agricultural experimentation and social enterprise.  It is a venue for summer schools, arts and crafts events, conferences and even has a 14C barn converted into a cinema!

There are historic gardens as well as 1,200 acres of estate to explore, including a recently opened Deer Park.

Furthering their commitment to sustainability, since February 2016 Dartington Hall have been using new biomass boiler and solar PV array to reduce both their carbon emissions and their fuel bills.
